As Above, so below

All three of these photos were taken in 2023-2024. In each, the alluring stillness of dawn pulled me into the rhythmic lapping water.  I listened to the morning subtleties and implicitly trusted where to go, when.  At that moment, I took an innocent photo meant to remind me of its specialness. 

Later, I saw the sky meet itself or softened trees get a glimpse of themselves on the reflective water.  Since we are predominantly made of water, we do the same.  Through our own lens we reflect back what is pure to us given our own individual composition.  Our perception is always colored by who we are and the experiences that have shaped us.  Interestingly, each photo can be hung horizontally or vertically. This shift in orientation allows us to have a completely different experience with the same piece.

Ultimately, my work invites you to have your own experience.  First, with each of these photographs.  Beyond that, I hope my work inspires you to listen to where your intuition guides you and what it tells you about yourself.
